India Signs $7.4 Billion Deal for Rafale Fighter Jets
Article

India finalized a $7.4 billion agreement with France to acquire 26 Rafale fighter jets for its navy, comprising 22 single-seaters and 4 twin-seaters. This deal aims to bolster India’s defense capabilities and reduce reliance on Russian military equipment. Deliveries are expected by 2030, with training conducted in both countries. The acquisition is part of India’s broader strategy to modernize its armed forces and enhance indigenous defense production, especially in light of China’s growing influence in the Indian Ocean region.
